Olaide A. Banks
Practice Focus: External General Counsel
Olaide A. Banks’ practice focus is providing general counsel for medium-sized businesses and representing business owners and their families in general legal matters.
Prior dedicating his focus primarily to the practice of law, Mr. Banks worked for 10 years as lead accountant and Chief Financial Officers for DIR Inc. a Houston-based social policy research and evaluation firm. Mr. Banks is a licensed CPA and sits on the advisory board of the Entrepreneurial Development Center of Services Cooperative Association (SCA) in Houston. SCA is the oldest business incubator in the State of Texas and is 100% member funded and relies on no government funding.
For six years (From 2004 through 2010) Mr. Banks served as the Executive Director of the Moonsplash Music Festival, the Eastern Caribbean’s longest running independent music festival. He is currently a board member with Moonsplash Music Festival. Mr. Banks is a member of the Board of the Independence Heights Redevelopment Council in Houston, Texas. He is the facilitator of the Pursuit Business Round Table and hosts a business law blog at http://olaidebanks.wordpress.com. Mr. Banks is a regular guest lecturer in Judge Frank Pierce’s Urban and Poverty Class at South Texas College of Law.
Mr. Banks earned his B.B.A. with a double major in Accounting and Finance from the Bauer College of Business at The University of Houston and his J.D. from South Texas College of Law while working full-time as Chief Financial Officer at DIR, Inc. Mr. Banks is a member of the State Bar of Texas and is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).
Danielle Nettles (Of Counsel)
General Practice
Danielle Nettles’ practice is general in nature. Much of her focus is on business litigation and criminal defense law.
Ms. Nettles received her BA in criminal justice from Clark University in Atlanta and her J.D. in 2010 from Thurgood Marshall School of Law at Texas Southern University. Among other accomplishments, Ms. Nettles was a member of The Board of Advocates and Vice Chair of the Texas Bar Association Student Division at her law school. Ms. Nettles was a research assistant at the Earl Carl Institute for Legal and Social Policy, Inc.
Ms. Nettles is fluent in German and has participated in document review litigation projects involving German-language documents.
Ms. Nettles is a member of the State Bar of Texas.
Ronald Haggerty (Of Counsel)
Practice Focus: Intellectual Property, Energy Infrastructure Projects
Ron Haggerty’s practice focuses on intellectual property including patents, copyright and trademarks primarily for energy and manufacturing sector clients.
Mr. Haggerty is the Principal at The Ron Haggerty Law Firm. He has served as lead counsel for domestic and international energy infrastructure projects for Fortune 500 companies. He has extensive experience interacting with regulatory and government agencies on behalf of energy industry clients. Mr. Haggerty earned a BS in mechanical engineering in 1981 and a JD from South Texas College of Law in 1996.
Mr. Haggerty is a member of the State Bar of Texas.
