"If you know the what, and you have a strong enough why

we can work through the how."

What and Why?

I have been blessed to have some great mentors and coaches in my professional life.  One of the great lessons taught to me was distinguishing the what, the why and the how.

When I moved to Houston to start college, I knew exactly what I wanted to do!

I wanted to help people build businesses and create jobs.  As an 18-year old, this was important because I had seen firsthand the impact that the lack of jobs and financial power could have on families and communities. This was my why!

My how wasn't as clear.  I knew that if I got a business degree from a respected school, that could open the door to help businesses.  So I earned a Bachelors of Business Administration (BBA) with double majors in Accounting and Finance from Bauer College of Business at University of Houston.  After working with a Fortune 100 energy company during and short time after graduation, I decided that starting an accounting department with a startup was be more inline with my what.

From a company that flounder under $1 million in annual revenue for more than 10 years, this startup became a major player in the Federal contracting aren,a at times employing more than 200 employees nationwide, while doing social good.

As the Company grew, my role expanded as did the the faith and trust that the business leaders placed in me.  I became a Trusted Advisor.

The missing piece to me being fully able to advise businesses was the legal and regulatory training and experience.  I received the training at South Texas College of Law, where I not only took advantage of the great classroom experience, but I also participated in Mock Trial and Moot Court competitions, at a school with one of the nation's most successful advocacy programs.

After law school, I continued to work as a CPA and Chief Financial Officer, while trying cases throughout Texas and in the Federal system.  With more than 100 trials at all levels from Justice Courts through Civil and Criminal District Courts, I developed the confidence and the knowledge to help build, protect and grow businesses.

Now I'm able to focus on doing the work I'm passionate about and serving clients whose visions align with my what.  I work alongside attorneys who share the same what, and Banks Concierge Law provides the platform for those attorneys to accomplish their how.
